Bout Protest Formalities
Professional Boxing Organisation India (PBOI)
The decision of the PBOI Ringside Judges is final, and a bout review cannot alter the official result.
However, in exceptional circumstances, where there is a blatantly incorrect decision or a clear violation of PBOI Technical Rules by PBOI-appointed ring officials that directly affects the outcome of a bout, a specially constituted Jury may recommend that the bout be declared a “No-Contest (NC)”.
Procedure to Lodge a Protest Against a Boxing Decision
1. Conduct After the Bout
- The Boxer and his/her seconds must leave the Field of Play via the designated route in a calm and orderly manner.
- Any form of protest, commotion, or misconduct inside the Field of Play is strictly prohibited.
2. Submission of Protest
- Within a reasonable time after the bout decision, the Boxer or an authorized representative must submit the official online Protest Form, clearly stating the intent to protest the bout result.
- PBOI may consider protest submissions up to 72 hours after the bout, in cases where there is a delay in receiving official bout video footage from the Event Promoters.
3. Protest Fee
- A non-refundable administrative fee of ₹2,500 must be paid online at the time of submitting the Protest Form.
- Protests will not be processed without confirmation of payment.
4. Review by PBOI Jury
- Upon completion of all protest formalities, the bout will be reviewed by a Specially Constituted Jury, appointed by the President, PBOI.
