Guidelines & Responsibilities of Managers
The Professional Boxing Organisation of India (PBOI) has established the following guidelines to promote ethical conduct, transparency, and professionalism among licensed managers.
1. General Responsibilities
- Managers shall act at all times in the best interests of their boxers.
- Managers are expected to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethical behavior.
- Managers shall actively work towards the career development, progression, and opportunities of the boxer.
2. Contractual Obligations
- All managerial agreements must be formalized in writing and shall fully comply with IBC and PBOI regulations.
- Managers must strictly honor the exclusivity and terms outlined in their contractual agreements.
- Any modification to an agreement must be documented and mutually agreed upon.
3. Financial Management & Transparency
- Managers shall maintain accurate, complete, and verifiable financial records.
- Managers must provide boxers with regular and transparent financial statements related to earnings, expenses, and deductions.
- Managers shall adhere strictly to the agreed-upon fee and commission structure.
- All payments due to the boxer must be made in a timely and transparent manner.
4. Conflict of Interest
- Managers must fully disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest to the boxer and PBOI.
- In cases where a manager also acts as a promoter, they must strictly comply with PBOI regulations governing dual roles, ensuring fairness and transparency.
5. Boxer Welfare & Safety
- Managers shall prioritize the health, safety, and well-being of the boxer at all times.
- Managers must ensure that boxers have access to appropriate training facilities, qualified coaches, medical support, and adequate preparation.
- No managerial decision shall compromise the boxer’s physical or professional welfare.
6. Enforcement & Disciplinary Action
Disciplinary measures may include formal warnings, monetary penalties, suspension, or revocation of managerial license, depending on the severity of the violation.
PBOI reserves the right to take disciplinary action against any manager found in violation of these guidelines.
